The Southwest Detroit Business Association is proud to present Run of the Dead 2018!

The run is a 5K and 10K USATF-Certified Route.  It will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 hosted at George S. Patton Park Recreation Center located at 2301 Woodmere in Detroit, MI 48209 from 9:00am-12:00pm. The ROTD celebrates the Mexican holiday of “Dia de Los Muertos” and the Christian observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.  The Run will again go through Historic Woodmere Cemetery, and for the 10K runners, through Holy Cross Cemetery and Patton Park.  Bishop Don Hanchon will be returning to talk about the cultural significance of the holiday and pre-run entertainment will be provided by dancers/musicians from the Center of Music & Performing Arts Southwest (COMPAS).  We are working with the Southwest Detroit art community to identify an artist to create this year’s ofrenda that will include a community offering component.   An ofrenda is a visual art piece dedicated to one or more people who have died in the past year to honor their memory and contributions to others.  For all those who previously participated, Zumba is back!

SDBA and Southwest Detroit’s businesses and residents look forward to you coming us to join us again!
